SOLID PLATINUM NATURAL STAR SAPPHIRE & DIAMONDS MENS RING ~ SIZE 7 3/4

Description

This is an estate piece, a Men's Solid Platinum (90% Platinum & 10% Iridium) Natural Star Sapphire and Diamonds Ring.  I recently acquired this at a local estate auction.  I believe it dates from the 1950's or 60's, maybe earlier.  It is lightly marked 10% Irid (for Iridium) Plat (for Platinum) on the inside of the band.  The ring is done with a bright polished finish.  The top has an oval cabochon Genuine Natural Blue/Grey Star Sapphire that measures 12mm by 10mm (weighing approximately 12.3 ct.)  This natural stone has visible flaws and service inclusions.  On either side of the Star Sapphire is a rectangular flush setting each holding 2 Square Cut Genuine Natural Diamonds measuring 1mm square.  The ring is a size 7 3/4 and weighs 20 grams on my digital postal scale.
