Description
These four mast stays were used to support the mast on a trawler for the last 20 years, but are still in great condition. The ship, named Wanderbird, is still sailing, but four of the stays were replaced with a removable type to allow for better use of the upper boat deck. The cable is about 13 feet, the turnbuckle end (with threads) is 9 inches and the hardware end with the hole is 6 inches.
so roughly 14 foot in total. The cable is heavy duty, 12mm (about 1/2 inch), 316 or similar stainless steel. One side has turnbuckle hardware, the other a fitting with a hole for a pin. These could be used on a boat OR for a really cool reclaimed architectural project - railings or a unique design element. To mount, you’d likely need the other side of the turnbuckle and a bracket, fairly easily found additional hardware.
These could be used as mast stays on a boat again, or they would make really cool, reclaimed materials for deck railings or any kind of creative architectural project.
