    Description

    Symbol of Mexico - Eagle on Cactus Eating Snake
    Concentrated history here spanning almost 700 years.
    Part of the recent sculpture group just south of the Zocalo, on the actual site where the Aztecs in 1325 encountered the sign that Huitzilopochtli had promised them, the mythical eagle on a cactus eating a snake. This was on a dry spot in the middle of the lake that became Mexico City.
