New York Central Railroad Oval Logo Nameplate Machine Age Steampunk 1853-1968

Original oval logo nameplate insignia for the New York Central System railroad, made of stamped and painted aluminum. The New York Central was created in 1853 and was a major east coast line. This logo plate is 3 5/8" wide by 2 3/8" high with black raised letters against an off white background. I do not know the age of this piece or what it was intended for. It  is in good to very good used condition with no damage but some scratches. All original paint is intact and the lettering is sharp and clear. I am calling this used but it may in fact be new old stock with shelfwear as the mounting holes have never been used.
