Description
Medieval Renaissance Christian Church Cathedral Tower Clock Great Wheel Part !This is an ancient part of a medieval or Renaissance tower clock traditionally located in the center of a town or city on a tower of a church or cathedral located. The entire length is approximately 41.5 cm (16 3/4 inches). The large wheel which is approximately 25.5 cm (10 inches) has 60 teeth, perhaps for sixty minutes ?! Followed by eight transfer rods and at the very opposite end there are 30 sharp nodes. The structure of the Salisbury cathedral clock appears to be very similar except larger, this would have come from a smaller tower clock which has fallen apart. Makes for a lovely decorative art piece, and can still be used to tell time as a cool Sundial if placed at the appropriate angle ! Feel free to check out my other
