Aluminum Railroad Track Tie and Bridge Location Marker off Chessie Line in NY

My wife and were taking a walk threw our village in upstate NY.
We walked under a railroad bridge that Chessie runs on and I noticed what first appeared to be a small piece of gray cardboard with the rusty point shafts of two nails sticking up, but when I picked it saw it was a metal marker that had vibrated loose and fallen from the tracks above.
All RR stuff is cool, but I don't collect other than about a half dozen lanterns I've picked up here and there.
I think she mineral spirits would probably clean it up nicely, but all I used was a little dish soap and water to get the crusty dirt off it.
